Thrift Store Quilt
Name of Maker: Unknown
Thrift Store Quilt - This is a quilt that I saw hanging on a wall in my favorite store - the thrift shop. I took it home with me for $7.00. Someone did a lot of hand work with this quilt. They tried tea dying it but it just made it look dirty and shabby. I gave it a thorough wash and then starched it. It came out very nicely. Whoever made it did not put batting in it and originally I thought I'd take it apart, put in batting and then quilt it. But actually now I like it as it is.

Teacups for Jeanne
Name of Maker: Carole Vrshek
Teacups for Jeanne - After taking a class to learn paper piecing, using the above book, I took off on the one cup we learned, got the book and made this quilt. I used fat quarters. The patterns were also reduced to 75% of the originals in the book. It is all cotton fabrics. I think I used the wrong material for batting - fiberfill - because it was rather thick and difficult to quilt.
