Hawaiian Goes Traditional
Name of Maker: Sylvia Gauthier
Hawaiian Goes Traditional - I wanted the old looking Hawaiian quilt design so I took a flower from an Elizabeth Root book and designed my own Hawaiian Quilt. After getting the quilt completely basted I noticed it had a perfect spot between the outside border and the center for a feather. Since I am not Hawaiian and I thought it would be a fun way to turn this traditional Hawaiian into something different. I drew out a feather design to fit in the space and did the machine method of adding the trapunto. So many things happened to this poor quilt that I wasn't sure if it was ever going to make it or not, but it did and I love it.

Flamingo Boondoggle - My friend in another state wanted all her friends from other parts of the US to all make Boondoggle Quilts together. She bought rulers and patterns and sent them to each of us.
