SylviaQuilts Hawaiian Goes Traditional - I wanted the old looking Hawaiian quilt design so I took a flower from an Elizabeth Root book and designed my own Hawaiian Quilt. After getting the quilt completely basted I noticed it had a perfect spot between the outside border and the center for a feather. Since I am not Hawaiian and I thought it would be a fun way to turn this traditional Hawaiian into something different. I drew out a feather design to fit in the space and did the machine method of adding the trapunto. So many things happened to this poor quilt that I wasn't sure if it was ever going to make it or not, but it did and I love it.
