A FAther's Relationship with His Daughter
Name of Maker: Joy Lamphere
A FAther's Relationship with His Daughter - This quilt was for an ArtImage Challenge - inspired by "American Gothic" by Grant Wood. I used the Caveman Quilting Technique.
Pinwheel Chain
Name of Maker: Kathy Henderson
Pinwheel Chain - Patchwork quilt that I had adapted from a vague memory of a quilt I had seen on-line. It is not exactly the same, so I guess it is a semi-original design.
Delaney's Quilt
Name of Maker: Sharon Haertling
Delaney's Quilt - This pattern is designed to be used with six FQs or six 1/2 yard cuts. I used a tulip of FQs to make this as a baby gift for a friend.
Elegant Pinwheels
Name of Maker: Kathy Henderson
Elegant Pinwheels - This is a quilt top only. I had seen the design in several different places by different makers. Not sure if there is a commercial pattern out for it or if it is just a traditional pattern. I planned the color placement in a somewhat original design.
Russell's Quilt
Name of Maker: Wanda
Russell's Quilt - Quilt was made as part of a challenge to use an ugly fabric and make it into something.
Double Pinwheel
Name of Maker: Kathy Henderson
Double Pinwheel - I love this pattern!! It is very complex looking, but is in fact very simple to make. I altered the design just slightly from the Eleanor Burns "Double Pinwheel" pattern. This picture was taken after it was quilted, but before the binding was put on. It is the first full-sized quilt I've made from this pattern. I made two other small versions as baby quilts.
Mocha Chain
Name of Maker: Kathy Henderson
Mocha Chain - The blocks put together with the sashing and cornerstones make a completely different design than when you see the blocks alone.
Holiday Wreath
Name of Maker: Kathy Henderson
Holiday Wreath - Enlarged version of a miniature quilt. Wall sized. Paper pieced.
Batik Multi-Patch
Name of Maker: Kathy Henderson
Batik Multi-Patch - This is simply squares sewn together - no pattern needed. What makes it stunning is the use of all batik fabrics.
Name of Maker: Linda Nelson
"NOT" so Traditional - Most of these blocks are traditonal Baltimore Album blocks but I have no idea where the patterns came from. I took a class while living in Saudi Arabia and was provided with the block patterns. I think I started in 1993 and finally finished in 2006!
My Ocean
Name of Maker: Linda Nelson
My Ocean - The marbelized blue fabric makes this quilt move! The pattern is an interpretation by Maruszka Hufstader of the Monkey Wrench pattern
Family baptism quilt
Name of Maker: kayp1
Family baptism quilt - After taking a workshop with Jamie Wallen, I created this quilt to match a baptismal gown that I made for my daughter's new family. I used dupioni silk, Isacord thread, Thinsulate batting and Renae's Amazing Rays (to make the rays). Four Bible verses are embroidered on the 4 points of the cross. The baby's name and baptism date are embroidered on another ray. We hope to add many names to the quilt as they have more children and their children have children.
Shanelle's T
Name of Maker: Wilma Diana Serrao
Shanelle's T
Reindeer Runner
Name of Maker: Wilma Diana Serrao
Reindeer Runner
Tiny Bubbles
Name of Maker: Jane Zowacki
Tiny Bubbles - I used silks, velvets....anything I could get my hands on to make this little crazy patch piece. I added tons of embroidery, tatting, beads, gems, charms, sea shells, yarns and stumpwork fish. I wanted to see if I could stitch realistic stumpwork fish and it was a lot of fun to do.
Butterfly Rhapsody
Name of Maker: Pat Skye
Butterfly Rhapsody - Frontera Quilt Guild's 2006 Mystery Quilt designed by Jan Beaman--a Nesting Robin. Color choices were more challanging than I could have imagined. I continually asked others what they thought! My first mystery quilt. Butterflies are from our local craft store.
In The Soup
Name of Maker: Sharon Haertling
In The Soup - This quilt was made for the 2005 Alpine Quilters challenge - "Estrogen." The menu card on the table by the bowl and spoon reads: "Today's Menu: Estrogen Soup."
When Goats Fly
Name of Maker: Sharon Haertling
When Goats Fly - This is a Convergence quilt to which I added original "cartoon-y" drawings of a mountain, a tree, a moon and a flying mountain goat.
Sea Stars
Name of Maker: Sharon Szekely
Sea Stars - My mother made this quilt for my husband & I for our 2004. I requested a variation of a Lone Star in blues & greens. The name of the quilt comes from our love of the sea. My mom has a long arm business with pictures at: http://community.webshots.com/user/sharonsseams2b & this was one of the early works on her Gammil.
A Dragon Called Tsunami
Name of Maker: Shari Schmitt
A Dragon Called Tsunami - Ricky taught this class at Quilt Durango in the Spring of ??????. I used Oriental fabrics that included waves, dragons and calligraphy. When I was finishing the quilt it reminded me of the horrible Tsunami. I fussy cut a dragon and appliqued it in the upper left-hand corner and quilted metallic gold thread coming from the mouth representing the waves.
