Holy is the Lamb - My 1st original quilt, made for my Pastor's wife's birthday. My previous quilts were 2 small whole cloth baby quilts. This was exciting from conception to completion. To read about the symbolism, go to daaquilts.com & go to the blog link.

Christmas Log Cabin - This was one of my 'first five' quilts. I love a challenge, the strips are 1".

Bev's Quilt - This was one of those 'conspiracy' quilts; I secretly had wedding guests sign a muslin square and surprised Bev almost 1 yr later, on her birthday. Many of the signors were also at the birthday party and were just as surprised as Bev (and her hubby, Doug).

Wildflower Mix - I made this after a workshop with Margaret Miller in Scotland. I picked colours that reminded me of my friend's flower garden in summertime.

Red Lights Blue Movies - A traditional kaleidoscope block with less than traditional colour placement, and a few sequins for added glitz.

BooBooKitty's Portrait - This is a portrait of my 16 year old cat, BooBooKitty. It was started in a workshop with David Taylor presented by the Hearts & Hands Quilt Guild in O'Fallon, IL.

While Dreaming - Quilt made as an exercise in color value. I made this for a class taught by Helene Knott at Story Quilts. After playing with several layouts, I decided to simulate a burst of light near the center, fading to dark edges. I was thinking about how often dreams have a core of truth surrounded by ambiguity and darkness. Quilting depicts a mermaid surrounded by animal friends (horse, dolphin, turtle, squirrel, bird, and fish).

Shark Reef - Made for my oldest son who loves sharks.

Nana's Garden - I made this quilt as a surprise for my grandmother. She passed away 2 days before I completed the quilt and never saw it. I buried it with her and now take comfort in knowing it keeps her warm and wrapped in love.

The Anniversary Quilt - "The Anniversary Quilt" commemorates our 40th! It is needle turned applique by me, and expertly machine quilted by Kathy Drew. It was juried into the 2008 AQS Expo in Nashville, and is featured in the 2010 Quilt Art Calendar. There are pictures of the individual blocks on my Webshots web page.

Garden Sampler - I saw a quilt in a magazine that had irregular sashings. I'm a very symmetrical person but for some reason the quilt called to me. I decided on a garden theme where either the blocks had garden type names or things of nature that could be found in the garden. Techniques needle turn applique, paper foundations piecing, 3d flying geese and hand quilting

Memories of Enchantment - This is the first quilt I tried to enter in the AQS Paducah Quilt Show. It was accepted and shown in 2005. No ribbons, just seeing it there hanging with all those beautiful quilts was wonderful.

Anna - Anna was a greyhound rescue who was our faithful companion for 2 1/2. She is shown on a paper-pieced rainbow ridge. Anna is shown as transparent thread painting. She is awaited by her playmates from the Laura Burch fabric line, waiting over the rainbow ridge for her to join them.

My Favorite Sampler - Used to teach quilting. Students went "shopping" in my stash for fabrics to make 3 quilts and only had to buy one 1/4 yd piece among 3 quilts!
