Inspired by Melanie's Passion for Italy - In memory of my dear friend, Melanie Duyungan. My design features raw-edge applique, extensive thread-work as well as hand-painted elements using Tsukineko inks and wax pastels. I enjoyed creating the walls, exposing bricks.

Shattered Face Quilt - This work was created from a bag of scraps donated to me by the students after attending one of my workshops: "Using Your Sewing Machine as a Creative Tool". It grew from the right eye which I sewed during the workshop as a means of illustrating one of the techniques that I teach in this workshop.

Tiptoeing into the Future - Pieced together using the techniques fibre embedment using scribble stitch and free motion machine embroidery.

The Three Watchers - I use the techniques fibre embedment using scribble stitch and free motion machine embroidery in all my works. I come to quilting as an artist rather than a quilter and therefore have a painterly style.

Audrey's Elephants - My daughter-in-law chose a mother and baby elephant theme for the nursery. I designed the quilt using Urban Zoologie fabric. The elephants are machine-appliqued and the quilt is hand-quilted.

Charlotte's Bunnies - I loved the design of this pattern and chose it for my next baby quilt. I did more piecing of the background from a fat-quarter bundle. Machine applique and quilting.

I'm There for You - Pillow made for my friend, who was valiantly fighting cancer. We enjoyed having tea together.

Lavender Iris - Based on a photo I took, this quilt was started in a class with Sue Turnquist that taught how to create an original design from a photo and turn it into a design for appli-piecing. I embellished it with colored pencils, wax pastels, and free-motion stitching. To give the central petal more definition, I used trapunto by adding two layers of Hobb's Thermore polyester batting behind that petal before adding the cotton batting and backing for quilting.
