Christmas Star Pillows - Using leftover blocks and pieces from the Christmas Pinwheel quilt, I made two pillow covers. I use these smaller functional pieces for free-motion practice. The small pillow in the photo was made from my project from a hand-quilting workshop.

Ohio State Quilt - City Blocks quilt pattern using Ohio State T-Shirts. Made in a class at Quilt Beginnings, Dublin, OH.

Freedom - I like to design my own quilts, but because I have had a lot of back pain this past year, I have also had a creative block. I thoroughly enjoyed doing this quilt, which was designed by Toni Whitney. The process was raw edge fusible applique.

Towson University - My daughter graduated from Towson University in Spring 2013. The t-shirts are from field hockey and other activities while in college. My daughter learned to sew in 4-H. We used a light weight fusible knit interfacing to stablize the knit t-shirts. This type of interfacting keeps the t-shirts soft yet stable.

Bloom Where You're Planted - This was a lot of FUN!!! I was not happy with my fabric choices when I was done fusing the pieces down. I gave it dimension and depth with thread painting. I used a LOT of different shades of threads. FUN!!!

Dreamtime in Kings Canyon - This was inspired by a photo taken inThe northern Territory.I've used all Aboriginal designed fabrics & it;s raw edge appliquéd & free motion quilted.

Love, Light, Peace, Christmas - 28" x 28" 100% cotton, including batting. Stitched in the ditch. Machine applique.

Holiday Banner - I designed this quilt wall hanging for the American and Efird Push the Envelope Contest at the 2013 American Sewing Expo at Novi, Michigan. It won an honorable mention for outstanding threadwork, and is traveling with American and Efird Trade Shows for a year.

After The Storm - This quilt is made to commentate storms that affect Fl and Al. The whirling represents the tornadoes that hit Al. regularly, and the fabric and quilting represent Fl., which is prone to hurricanes. Each spike has a shell quilted into it and the rest of the quilt has palm trees, sailboats, seagulls, flamingos, both printed in the fabric and quilted. The flamingos have 5 mm black onyx beads for eyes to draw attention to them. The back of the quilt has frogs playing in the fabric to represent new life after the hurricane.

Fonzie # 2 - I made this art quilt from a picture I took of my rooster Fonzie (he has a big comb LOL).
