Pear II

I Spy - I made this I-Spy quilt for my nephew. I was real pleased with my mitered corners since I don't do them very often.

Pinwheel Baby Quilt - Cute pattern with easy to make prairie points on the inside border. I changed up the # of blocks from the original pattern.

Tom's Trains - I used a train panel to make this original design for my brother. He was very happy with it.

CHRISTMAS QUILT - This quilt was made for my Grandson for Christmas.

Apsara Aali... - My Apsara quilt!!! The quest for the photo started about 2-3 months back... I was always intrigued by the many different ways in which a saree is draped in India. The length of the saree also varies regionally. In Maharashtra - the state in India that I live in - the 9 yard saree - called nav vari (nav = nine, var = yard) is the traditional gear for women. It has its own variants too! It looks especially beautiful from behind! I wanted to capture the grace of that saree, without making it look like I was trying to make a quilt of a woman's bottom!

iQuilt - It is a portrait quilt made using the reverse applique technique! It was fun making this as a gift for my little brother!

Embellished Tote bag - I made the front of this tote bag in the style of Carol Ann Waugh's work. I curved pieced my hand dyed fabric then embellished it with cords, yarns, bobbin work with Razzle dazzle thread, the various fancy stitches on my machine, hand embroidery and beading and free motion machine quilting. It was fun to just let loose!

Buffaloes in Disguise - My brother loves the CU buffaloes in Boulder, but I didn't want to make a giant buffalo image quilt. I wanted something that his wife would like to hang in her living room... So I chose the gold and black that he loves and a design that she would like. They seemed very pleased with the result.

Celtic Crystals - This was a learning experience and Mother Superior had good words of wisdom to get me through this. Thank you!!! Mother Superior!!!

NY Beauty Goes toHawaii - I bought this kit at the NJ Quilt Show(2008)thinking I can do this-HA! I had never paper pieced and panicked. After 4 years I got up the courage and made it, then it was put away until 2013 and I was ready to quilt Celtic Crystals. Done!! and another learning experience!

"OH DEER!" - I made this quilt for a Red & White Quilt Guild Challenge. The deer are hand appliqued and the piece is embellished with beads.

Pineapple Fun - The pineapple blocks were made with Gyleen Fitzgerald's tool and placed in a staggered pattern.

Cathedral Rails - I made this for my son for Christmas (shhh... Don't tell). I used the traditional rail fence pattern, but varied the width of the rails. I likd the way the dark background makes the other colors glow like a stained glass window. This was made out of scraps from my daughter-in-laws quilt, The .feather Quilt. Not bad for a scrappy quilt!
