Seath's Bug Quilt - I made this for the birth of my grandson. It has blocks of appliqued bugs alternating with solid blocks and is edged with prairie points. The label on the back includes the first picture I got of my grandson via Skype when he was 2 days old.
New Hampshire woods - I used several paper piecing ideas and combined them into this small wall quilt for a friend who loves these colors. It is all cotton material and batting, and entirely hand quilted.
Transitions - This quilt was made using a technique developed by Tally Ronly-Riklis and shown in the book The Art Quilt Collection published by Penn Publishing.
Swimming with the Sturgeons - I designed this quilt for my nephew who is an avid sturgeon fisherman. I researched the type of sturgeon he fishes for and designed appliques to look like White Sturgeon.
Limoux Market Day - This is an improvisationally pieced modern quilt. Most of the fabric is scraps from my stash of Provençal fabric plus a background fabric purchased specially for this quilt. It was made to hang in the cottage.
Feather Your Next - Beautiful hand dyed fabric became a custom quilted whole-cloth design, quilted with gorgeous, luminous magnifico polyester threads from superior thread company for the feathers, and then hand painted with acrylic inks. original design, pattern and quilting.
Black Leathered and Feathered - Faux Leather, quilted with feather-quilting as the centerpiece of the stitching, with polyester thread, in colors that complement one another beautifully in deep, rich tones of copper, fuschia pink, golden brown. Custom, intricate, quilted details of multiple motifs make it a statement piece.
Sweet Love - I miniaturized Mimi Dietrich's Hugs & Kisses pattern for a 36" square quilt found in Fon's & Porter's magazine. The center is button Hole stitched and the border is needle turn applique. The quilt is the square you see photographed in the center of a sheet of white paper with green border.
Seven Vertical Wheels Circumgyrating - This quilt was made for the Pyrotechnic Guild International Convention's Art Show and it's Quilt Challenge in 2011.
American Avocet - 22x32 inches this Avocet a wading shore bird, was inspired by a recent visit to our Wildlife Refuge where they were in abundance among the old lily's. Rainbow Star - I wanted the challenge of a Judy Niemeyer pattern but preferred clear, crisp, bright rainbow colors to the ones used in most examples of this quilt. I love the outcome!
Finale - This quilt made from hand drawn New York Beauty style blocks is also heavily machine embroidered with rayon thread. It was made for the second Pyrotechnics Guild International Quilt Challenge Convention's Art Show.
