Beach Play - My granddaughter playing on the beach on Hilton Head Island, SC. Background uses Karen Eckmeier's "Layered waves" technique and the figure of my granddaughter uses Cathy Wiggin's "Fabric Paint by Number" technique.

Horse of a Different Color - This is an art quilt that I designed. The background is woven using a technique I learned from the book "Simply Stunning Woven Quilts" The Horse was inspired by a stencil that I saw online. I immediately thought -great quilt idea! I drew my version of the horse and transferred the pattern onto the fusible I had ironed on the back of the fabric. This is a method I learned from Laura Wasilowski.

Quilt of Valor - After seeing the documentary "Quilts of Valor" with Marianne Fons on PBS, I decided that I wanted to make a patriotic quilt and give it to a soldier who had served overseas. I was fortunate to know someone in my area who was very deserving. James served several tours in Afghanistan. I loved sewing this, and I wanted at least one soldier to know that I was grateful for his service to our country.

Barnes' baby quilt - Crib quilt for my third grandchild due this month. Log cabin block drawn in an EQ7 workshop in May and finished in July. Quilting from EQ7 appliques turned into stencils.

Bouquets for Catharine - My first Applique project began in October 2011, finished in Sept 2012.Named in honor of my late Mother in law.

Down at the Depot - Tthe latest raffle quilt for the Dryden Historical Society. "Down at the Depot" is the 4th in the series that honors the historical and important places in the Village and Township of Dryden, MI. It features a large, center medallion with my thread painted interpretation of a pencil drawing by R. Mason (permission was granted for the interpretation). It also features 20 machine embroidered vintage train engines and cars. Wedding Quilt for Matt and Sarah - Signature quilt presented as first anniversary gift. Wedding guests signed muslin triangles that were later pieced into the quilt top.

Reach for the Stars - To Jacqueline's pattern I added 11 Golden Dolphins and 33 azeztulite crystals. The quilt was made especially to honor Stardreaming, a complex of sacred temples, aligned to the stars, in Santa Fe, New Mexico

No Name - BOM 2012. It's done and off the design wall.

Candlelight - Made for Candlelight Cottages, Lk George, NY, where we vacation every year. There is a very large candle out front. Made from my stash, I am very pleased with the results!

A vintage Christmas - Hand appliqué and hand quilted.

Tooled Leather - This was a mystery quilt offered by the staff at Connecting Threads.

Almost Autumn Falls - I took a landscape workshop from Linda Schmidt. She taught us to make trees and boulders from white puffy paint and Tyvek (wrap for constructing houses or used mailing envelopes!). Pretty amazing results.
