April Showers Bring May Flowers
Name of Maker: Debbie Wolf
April Showers Bring May Flowers - This was made as a Christmas gift for my granddaughter. She chose all the batik fabrics and I surprised her with the final design. I used Edyta's umbrella pattern, but I added sashing and appliqué flowers in the sashing corners.
Gentle Joy
Name of Maker: Debbie Wolf
Gentle Joy - This was made as a Christmas gift for my granddaughter. She wanted a purple hippo, but once we started looking at fabric she wanted all of it. Isn't that just like a quilter! The center medallion was inspired by a watercolor drawing by Jo Lynch, whose work is incredibly delightful. This particular drawing was a perfect way to incorporate all the joyful fabrics that Amber chose. I added the appliqué butterflies for the final touch of whimsy.
Yellowstone Revisited
Name of Maker: Debbie Wolf
Yellowstone Revisited - Log cabins around fabric panels purchased during our recent trip to Yellowstone. Because the panels were both horizontal and vertical photos, the quilt had to be designed with that in mind. After putting it on the design wall, I quickly realized that it needed something for accent and to break up the tedium of the log cabin strips. I decided to add an appliqué border from the Backwoods Design Appliqué Book. I was so happy to have finally figured out a design to highlight the fabric panels and finish the quilt. The quilting was done by my friend and fellow TQS member on her new long arm. She incorporated feathers and a beautiful leaf design in the log cabin blocks. She also did a soft wave design over each of the fabric panels which was the perfect quilting accent for them.

Together in a Friendship World
Name of Maker: Geta Grama and Quilt.RO Group Romania
Together in a Friendship World - This is a quilt made by a group of Romanian quilting friends; even non-quilters stitched on it: all my 3 sisters and even my hubby helped us a lot. It was hand pieced and it is machine quilted. It's a large quilt. about 90" square. We hand pieced the top in about 3 months. The quilting was easier than I anticipated! It was accepted into the Houston judged show Fall 2013. More pictures here: http://cadouri-din-inima.blogspot.ro/2013/04/together-in-friendship-world.html

Sun Bonnet Sue Album Quilt - I inherited some raw edge applique Sun Bonnet sue blocks from my aunt. I had some eleanore burns sun bonnet sue fusible and a lady at our church asked me if I could make a quilt for her adopted daughter with the signed blocks she gave me. That is how it came about.
Pieceful Easy Feeling

Pieceful Easy Feeling - The quilt is made entirely of hexagons. I decided to finish it envelope style, feeling that a border would detract from the overall design.
