Xavier's Lone Star
Name of Maker: Stephanie Kollar, sssewr
Xavier's Lone Star - I started this quilt in a weeklong workshop and completed the entire middle section and brown border seven years ago. I didn't know how I wanted to quilt it, so I hung it in the closet. When I decided how I wanted to quilt it, I did most of the quilting, but didn't know how to embellish the large setting squares, so it went back to the closet. When Xavier moved from a crib to a bed, I knew it would be for him and decided to applique large cowboy boots in each corner. After a trip to Houston for the show in 2012 and being unable to find a suitable stencil, I just traced my own boot, and put a stitching design on it. He finally got it for his 4th birthday in March. He loves it and sleeps under it every night.

Rusty Road Relics
Name of Maker: frans21
Rusty Road Relics - This pattern was one that I fell in live with! I live doing embroidery but added by own unique elements. I used variegated threads in dove to tan shades. I added my own unique elements and stitches to include some dark copper metallic to give a rusted element to certain areas. I also added my husband and my initials carved in a tree and other messages. With the piecework I followed the pattern but turned some of the blocks. It was fun to work on!

Spencer's Graduation Quilt
Name of Maker: Karen Weber
Spencer's Graduation Quilt - I made this quilt for my grandson who is graduating this year. The quilt was to be a T-Shirt quilt but his mom doesn't save anything so all I got were two T-Shirts. So I had to improvise with pictures from his school years. I did his grade school pictures in a film strip motif and the rest was just kind of where it happened. Very pleased with the outcome.
Ricky Tim's Practice quilt
Name of Maker: Karen Weber
Ricky Tim's Practice quilt - I attended a Super Seminar a couple of years ago in Iowa and this was my practice block from a pattern in the materials from the seminar. I adapted the feathers around the center block from one of his patterns. Am going to make a Rhapsody at some point...this turned out better than I expected!
Pharoh
Name of Maker: Sandy Jung
Pharoh - I had a piece of fabric with an image of a Pharoh on it. I had another piece of fabric with cats on it. So I began by adding green and copper colored retangles of different sizes to these images using my design wall. All pieces were fused to a background, and the quilting was done with a copper-colored metallic thread.
