Jan's Fancy - This quilt was inspired by Ricky's video in an earlier Quilt Show Episode. I wanted to do a modern variation of a traditional quilt for a guest bedroom. The quilt is made from hand-dyed fabrics that give the quilt a wonderful feeling of texture. I love the bold variation in color. Unfortunately, the picture does not do justice to the striking colors in the quilt.
Sedona Inspiration - This hand appliqued quilt was inspired by the beautiful colors of Sedona, AZ. The pattern was purchased from Garden City Gateworks at the Lancaster Quilt Show. I machine quilted the quilt with a longarm.
Equality - This is my latest pattern - and I'm so pleased how it turned out. It was posted on Facebook and went viral! Patterns are now available in Minnesota at Old Alley Quilt Shop in Sherburn, Firefly Quilt Shop and River City Quilts in Mankato; and in Iowa at Red-Roxie Quilt Company in Decorah and The Wooden Thimble in Estherville.
See How the Flowers Grow - I made three sizes of a block used in my guild's exchange challenge, added many 3D elements, tiny flowers, buttons, fibers, etc. The setting is a wacky setting of my own.
An Unexpected Pleasure - Created from several small blocks from a local workshop that had been marinating in the UFO box for a few years. The applique fans & scrolls brought it all together.
Garden of Pomegranates - I experimented with several techniques on this quilt...sashiko stitching, trapunto, hand embroidery…and learned many valuable lessons. Hand dyed solids on a plain background.
Log Cabin in the Forest - The log cabin block and large piece of forest fabric came together as an uncommon baby quilt for a dear friend who is decorating her baby's room with an outdoor theme.
Touch of Red practice quilt - I watched Sharon Schamber's first video on Tuesday while on vacation and made this quilt and an sister one on black fabric for a quilt show in Yeovil next weekend in 3 days using my Bernina 830. Goddess of the last minute, of course) Thank you Sharon for sharing and TQS for hosting the video series.
As Times Goes By - I bought this linen piece on Etsy for $5. Although in great structural shape, it was very grimy from being handled all those years ago and never washed. A couple of washings in restoration soap helped immensely. I attended Cindy's "Linen Ladies" workshop at the 2013 Road to California and she was most helpful in getting me started on this piece. My aim was to honor the woman who almost-but-not-quiet finished the amazing embroidery. If I could show it to her I hope she would be happy with the result. Finishing this piece really meant a lot to me. I am just happy it wasn't thrown away, so it could be displayed as it should be.
Stars Around the World - Stars Around the World was made from HST's from the SOTTT Exchange here. I quilted it on my A1 Longarm and it's one of my favorite quilts!
Love to hate you - There is a lot of Y-seems in this block and I really hated it, but at the same time loved seewing it and to see it grow. There for the name " Love to hate you"
