My Butterfly Flutterby
Name of Maker: Leann McClain

"My Butterfly Flutterby", was the 4th quilt I ever made.  I really enjoy machine embroidery and wanted to see how they would look on batiks. - Using placement ideas from McKenna Ryan's "Bela Garden" quilt, I chose embroidered butterflies as the theme of this quilt centered around a butterfly view of a Texas scene of wild flowers. The center fabric is embellished with embroidered wild flowers, appliquéd house, and embroidered trees.  It features a 3-D embroidered butterfly. Machine embroidery patterns are by Embroidery Library and Singer. A double row of prairie points features 2 fabrics.

Winding Ways
Name of Maker: Beth Long
Winding Ways - I made this quilt to go above the couch in my family room. I've been in the process of decorating in fall colors. Batiks are my favorite! This was a difficult block, initially, but I got the hang of it, after a while. Thank goodness for Accuquilt dies! I just started another one for a bed quilt with the same fabrics, plus more that I've been adding, whenever the good sales come around.
a day at the beach
Name of Maker: Karen Grover
a day at the beach - A small quilt intended to represent June in a calendar quilt challenge for out guild.
Small Things
Name of Maker: Janet Hartje
Small Things - This quilt was created for a Words of Wisdom challenge. I made it from a photo of my husband and I holding hands. My words were: The best thing to hold onto in life is each other. I gave this to my husband for our anniversary.
dawn-of-inspiration
Name of Maker: Leann McClain

Dawn of Inspiration - As the batik precut 2 1/2" strips got put together I knew it had to have more contrast and light so I found the coral pink gradiated fabric and the yellow/green/coral fabric to compliment the dark busy batiks.

Earths beginning
Name of Maker: Nanette Sturgill
Earths beginning - The polka dotted triangles "float" . They are open on the long side around the center. The triangles on the outside are prairie points. The center is inspired by the Celtic story that when the first rays of sun touched the earth the dryads were created to make the world habitable.
Nova Nouvelle
Name of Maker: Joyce Triezenberg
Nova Nouvelle - I was very impressed with Jinny Beyer's pattern that appeared in the June 2005 issue of McCall's Quilting Magazine. I wanted to pick out my own fabrics to make it. Luckily, I was fortunate enough to go on a driving trip with my sister-in-law and we visited Jinny's shop. A very helpful person in the shop patiently helped me find fabrics I really liked. I used a different border print from the original pattern, so I had to adjust the sizes of all the setting pieces, but that was really no big deal. The quilt took first prize in the 2010 Michigan Quilt Network Showcase in the large machine quilted category. Christmas Wonder
Name of Maker: Joyce Triezenbergj
Christmas Wonder - This quilt is based on a technique described in the book, "One Block Wonder Encore" by Joy Pelzmann and Maxine Rosenthal. I had the pleasure of taking a workshop with Maxine in Fort Wayne, IN, in early October 2009. This is my Christmas version using three colorways of the same fabric from Westminster called “Poinsettia & Holly Mix.” See more pictures here: http://quiltsbyjoyce.wordpress.com/2009/12/11/christmas-wonder/
Pink Admiral
Name of Maker: Janet Hartje
Pink Admiral - This was created for the Minnesota Quilter's challenge "What's Black and White and Read All Over?" We were given two different black and white fabrics and nestled inside was a fabric marker. We could add the color of the marker to our quilt and had to use the marker somewhere on our quilt top. I immediately thought of a zentangle for the black and white fabrics. I wanted to try a cut out as I have never done that on a quilt. I had fun trying to figure out how to do this and learned a lot in the process.

Howzat!
Name of Maker: Robyn Bennett
Howzat! - Made from Gyleen Fitzgerald's book, and using her ruler after seeing her episode on TQS. I just LOVED making these blocks and may break my self imposed rule of not making the same quilt twice...I have so many scraps to use up!
Celebration
Name of Maker: Colleen
Celebration - I made this as a baby quilt for my niece's boy, born in June, 2012. It isn't exactly as designed by Judy Martin - I left off a partial border of the bright squares. It was only on two sides, so would have made the quilt asymmetrical (in my opinion) and it was already really big for a baby quilt! In any event, I loved how it turned out, as did my niece. I made a second one for another young mom that I know.
Brown Bear
Name of Maker: Lmorens
Brown Bear - I found these fabrics and then designed the block myself. My inspiration was the Artist/fabric designer Eric Carle. He was a favorite of my daughters when they were young.
Shayna's Stars
Name of Maker: Lmorens
Shayna's Stars - My daughter and I picked the pattern and fabric for this when she started kindergarten. It got set aside to work on school projects, costumes, etc. I decided to finish it before she finished high school, and we did! It was quilted by Pat Sudano.
We are Connected
Name of Maker: Barb Gabriel
We are Connected - I was commissioned by the City of Poulsbo, Washington to create a gift from the city to give to the Suquamish Tribe to commemorate the opening of their new museum. The quilt shows the connection between Poulsbo's Nordic heritage and the Suquamish Indian Tribe culture.
