Cole's Airplane Quilt - I made this for the first son of a friend of mine. I quilted airplanes in the alternate blocks. He can't sleep without his 'special blanket' which is the main reason we make baby quilts...to be loved.

Bear's Color Wheel - Queen-size quilt machine pieced in 1986(?) and machine quilted in 2007. It was my first machine pieced quilt. Given to my mother.

Rufus the Rooster - Hand appliqued and quilted. Fabrics in rooster were from a kit (I didn't have a large enough stash at the time).

La Gomera - This quilt is inspired by the landscapes of the island of La Gomera, in Canary Islands. The baby bloks are the stone formations of "Los Organos", the greens inside the bloks are the trees of the Laurisilva, a forest from the terciary era and Human´s Patrimony

Path & Stiles - My first attempt at machine quilting. Traditionally, the path & stiles pattern is made with two fabrics (light and dark). I added the medium turqoise and blue fabrics to calm down the quilt a bit.

Sydney's Pink Quilt - My nephew and his wife had two boys and when they finally had their little girl I knew she had to have a quilt. I quilted large hearts on it because everyone loves her so much.

Mom's Memory Quilt - I made this quilt for my mother. There are 35 blocks with each one representing a memory of her life beginning with the families of her parents and ending with the marriage of my youngest brother. I was inspired by Jinny Beyer's Block-A-Week located on her web site and chose the churn dash. I fell in love with Jinny's fabric choices as well and placed my picture choices in the center of each block. The quilt is both hand and machine quilted. It truly was a labor of love. I had heard many, many times from different quilters how a quilt takes on a life of its own. This quilt was the first one for me that did just that and as I made it, I really felt that I got to know my mother even better - it truly was a wonderful experience!

Beginner Stars - I have designed this quilt to teach strip piecing, HST´s and quarter square triangles as well as paperpiecing and using the TRI-RECS tool.

4th of July - This quilt is made using foundation paper piecing. It was a request of a quilting group that I teach this class for them, that meant I had to make a sample first. It was a big job, but I am very happy with the result. I have taught the class a couple more times to make it worth my time making the quilt.

BQ Sampler - The blocks are from Jinny Beyer's website. They all used a stripe fabric. The setting is Debbie Bowles BQ Quilt pattern. This was my niece Cassie's graduation quilt. Her favorite color is lime green.

Year 2000 quilt - I traded with 80 quilters from all over the world. Each block is squares from one person, one from each state in the United States and Washington, D.C., plus 29 different countries. The center square is a signature square from the person I received the squares from. 80 blocks times 25 squares equals 2000 pieces for the year 2000.

Smalling Family Tree Quilt - This is my family tree quilt. The top row has family pictures and one block for my father, one block for my mother, and one block with their wedding date. The next row has one block for each of my five brothers, two sisters, and myself. The next row is a block for each of our spouses. Then all the next rows are blocks for each of the grandchildren and their spouses and great grandchildren. The bottom row is more family pictures. All blocks are arranged in the chronological order of birth for each person represented.

Sophia's Snoopy baby quilt

My Log Cabin Polka - A smaller version than the pattern in the book using only six blocks. No two fabrics repeat within the blocks and all are dots or almost dots (see the book). I added the black border to frame the blocks and then jazzed it up with a stack and whack border using the fabrics from the blocks. Wilderness Christmas - After visit my first quilt show in Lancaster Co., Pa., I purchased this pattern and made this quilt by fusing the cutout designs and placing them onto fabric.

Sunriver Batik Scrappy Sampler Quilt - Sunriver Batik Scrappy Sampler Quilt. This quilt was started on a vacation to Sunriver, OR and the top was completed on a subsequent trip to Sunriver. It was a joy to make and I love the batiks and bright colors. Quilted by Karen Farrell, MO

Maple Leaf - We drove by a fabric store and outside was this beautiful full size quilt hanging. I made one as a wall hanging. I love bright colors and that is what inspired me in the choice of color.
