Chatty Blossoms
Name of Maker: NA
Chatty Blossoms - It is important to me that my art quilts suggest a meaning to the viewer rather than simply decorate walls. Underlying much of my work is the theme of wonderment for the workings of the earth. This quilt is composed of commercial cottons and decorative threads. The work is hand appliqued and embroidered, machine pieced, couched, and quilted.
Uptown
Name of Maker: NA
Uptown - Usually I have more ideas than I can put into action. I try to do things ‘I like” to do. I enjoy the challenge of working with color, lots of color. A trip to a local museum inspired this color scheme of brown, blue and gold. I like anything I can do by machine.
Fairyland
Name of Maker: NA
Fairyland - It’s a delight to handle fabric, to fold and rearrange it, to absorb color and effect by feeling and working with it. The pattern, color and feel of the fabric, the line and structure of the piecing, all interest me. Texture through the heavy use of the quilted line attracts me. Catching light and glimmers of it’s reflection, the interplay between lines and shapes, and sometimes...the element of surprise, is fascinating
Taet Sweet
Name of Maker: NA
Taet Sweet - Place ever gaudy brightly colored fabric I own in the same piece stir together, to see the results. What fun playing with color.
Fear No Color
Name of Maker: NA
Fear No Color - Start with stimulating, exciting and agitating red. Add bright, cheerful and buoyant yellow. Then mix with placid and passive blue. The outcome of this color experiment is Fear No Color.

Pineapple Rhapsody
Name of Maker: Jackiequilts
Pineapple Rhapsody - This is the 3rd Pineapple Quilt that I have made!! What fun! I used Russian Rhapsody fabric and made it as a shop sample for Gone Quilting. I also taught this as a class. It now hangs there as they have kitted it to be sold for others to make. I just love all the bright colors!!
Black, White, and Fuschia All Over
Name of Maker: Jackiequilts
Black, White, and Fuschia All Over - I had this book Super Simple Squares by Lynda Milligan and Nancy Smith and then saw this quilt made up in a shop while I was vacationing. I had so many black and white fabrics and absolutely LOVE fuschia, I had to make this quilt! The actual pattern in the book is called Blue Skies.
For Dan and Liz
Name of Maker: Nancy King
For Dan and Liz - I put a border of white fabric with blue printed lighthouses that was too stark. I then painted the border with blue and yellow on that faded to green in the middle..Scary but it worked out really well.

Stacey's Quilt
Name of Maker: JOJO1
Stacey's Quilt - Pattern from the Quilter Magazine - September 2003 Issue. While I was taking my very first (weekly) quilt class, I found this pattern and fell in love with it and decided to try my hand at this pattern at the same time. It worked out beautifully so I gave it to my step-daughter for her birthday. Making it was a lot of fun, but seeing the expression on her face when she opened it was priceless!
Fish Quilt
Name of Maker: JOJO1
Fish Quilt - Pattern from The Quilter's Magazine - July 2005 Issue. My husband had been so patient with my new quilting hobby that I decided I should make a quilt for him too and since he loves to fish, I thought this lap-size fish pattern would be perfect! He loved it!
Mekong Gold
Name of Maker: Helen Godden
Mekong Gold - Bleach painted on black cotton to create the image. Free- Motion machine quilted with lots of gold across the water. Awarded Master of Innovative Artistry at IQA Houston 2006
The Da Vinci Road
Name of Maker: LK
The Da Vinci Road - Norah taught this Cosmati class in Santa Barbara, and I loved it. I changed the borders and the filler in the 4 large circles, putting in a paper-pieced pattern I designed from a real photgraph of a Coasmati floor in Italy. The pieces are TINY, and the effect is stunning. This quilt won the Large Traditinal Pieced category as well as Best Use of Color in the 2006 Harvest of Colors quilt show in Santa Barbara.
