Summer Amish - Started this after "Winter Amish" but finished it way before. I enjoyed practicing machine applique for the 1st time on this quilt. I learned that I am a much better machine-quilter than a hand-quilter. Also for the 1st time tried variegated thread for quilting.

Alice's antique embroidery - My friend Alice asked me to arrange into a quilt these floral embroidered blocks that a friend of hers had gotten at a yard sale. When I finished the quilt Alice then gifted it back to her friend. In exchange Alice gave me some other blue worked antique embroidery blocks- thus my profile image!

Green Around - This is how I used the little boxes of old fabric samples I had gotten from Keepsake Quilting several years before. Had fun arranging them, and then machine quilting and beading this one.

It's All A Whirl - Made this small quilt with leftover blocks from a larger quilt I made that has solid backgrounds. Made good use of my Day of the Dead fabric.

Bouquets For A New Day - Machine appliqued this quilt of the month with my own fabrics. Had the background left from a quilt I made for my Son and Daughter in law when they got married, so that made this one special for me. Many of the blocks were appliqued with my Bernina embroidery module and my Bernina software.

Stars for a New Day 2009 - I ordered the fabric for my quilt top from the website and was very happy with that choice. I kept up with the work and finished the top at the end of the year. It is however still waiting to be quilted.

Magie's Ride - This is the fourth quilt in the series using my granddaughter's image for the figure. "What better way to bring the stars at night than to ride your dragon at dusk's last light".
Keeper Bill

Keeper Bill - My husband, Bill, likes to photograph light houses. For our 20th anniv. we spent the weekend in the keeper's cottage of the one in the center. I learned a technique for turning photos into applique. There are no fusibles. The photo is traced onto muslin. I finished it in time for our 25th anniv. All blocks are from his photos. I am entering it into my guild's quilt show, which is in May. Quilted by me on my regular Viking. Also entered into the Genesee Valley quilt fest show, a show with 600 quilts. It won Judges Choice. It was the favorite of Cyntjia England. I am so honored and thrilled that I also won $100!
