Holy Cow What Now - This quilt was made from a mismash of HSTs. I had no idea for the longest time how to put them together...

Basket for Memories - I made this little basket as an Alzheimer's Priority Quilt in honor of my aunt Karen, who died of Alzheimer's several years ago. She was married to my mother's 2nd oldest brother. Last summer, when TQS was taping in Boulder, those of us who were attending a taping were asked to make an Alzheimer's Priority Quilt so they could be presented to Ami during the taping of her show. I was not able to turn mine in at that time, because I was still waiting to receive my permission from Gwen Marston. If only she had email! I did mail my little quilt off as soon as I received Gwen's written permission in the mail--she seemed pleased that I wanted to use her inspiration!

Falling Leaves - Beginning quilt class making 8 different blogs. Instead of a large quilt, I used my favorite 4 blocks and added applique leaves

Classic 9 Patch - Made this quilt for my BFF as a christmas present using a stash collection that matches her bedroom. Created the quilt on Electric Quilt first to make sure I would have enough fabric for the quilt. Machine Quilted straight lines.

Morning Tea at Maxine's - Central Heart with a short poem. This central panel is all hand embrodiery with glass beads. Around edges has 3 1/2" blocks.

Circle of Life - I just love this quilt! The pattern is very well drafted; the segments fit together like a dream. And this is the reason (and excuse) for a large fabric stash!

Princess Ro - My friend Ro gave me a bunch of batik fat quarters and black fabric and said "make a quilt for me out of this". It took me a while to figure out how to use the fabric in the best way, but finally decided to group the colors together, make Rail Fence blocks and separate the color groups with the black fabric. Whew! For the back I used a cute fabric called "Pirate Princess" that is a purple color with black cute skull and crossbones (Ro is into that!). She loves the quilt and took it to the hospital with her a couple of weeks ago when she had her second child!! :)

Split Rail Fence - To give myself uninterrupted shopping time, I gave my husband the task of selecting fabrics. After maybe 5 minutes, he gave up in favor of finding a kit on the designer’s website!

English Roses - This quilt is "hanging" on one of my metal front doors. Strip magnets through the sleeve allow it to "hang" with no visible means of support, no nail holes!

Mad Monster Mini Pineapple - Sixty-four 2” pineapple blocks each with containing 48 pieces = 2624 total pieces. My husband thought I was nuts to make it; now it’s his favorite!

Almost Child's Play - I converted Fabric Boutique’s BOM blocks to 60 degree diamonds, using their fabrics for the medium values and my stash for light/dark values of same color. A real challenge!

Pretty Boxes All in a Row - A perfect use for my collection of Jinny Beyer fat-eights. The illusion of dimension is easily achieved by value – except the yellow box for which third time was the charm!

BOUNTIFUL HARVEST - Pieced and appliqued with batiks by machine. Added lettering as appropriate for gifting to my pastor. Added beading for emphasis on corn silks.

Heart Tree - I made this for my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary this year. Each heart represents their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lewy - Lewy is my depiction of what brain cells look like when an individual has Lewy Body Dementia. The picture of nerve cells were quilted with metallic thread and red glass beads were used to portray abnormal proteins in the brain. A three dimensional Peltex frame was constructed. Quilt on the way to Houston.
