Tanika's quilt - I chose some lovely bright fabrics as my granddaughter loves colour, I asked her did she like it? She replied NO I just LOVE IT in a very loud voice, she rolls herself up in it every night with all the other bedding off of her, just how wonderful is that.

Standing Tall - "Growth chart" using machine embr, scanned handprint and child's "signature".

Diane's Turtler's - I made this quilt for my friend Diane who just loves turtles. I wanted the turtles to appear as if they were swimming up to the surface so I added tuel, yarn, fish and shells on the surface of the quilt to give it a three dimensional feel. The fabric I sewed then cut in strips to appear as if the water was changing depth and from dark to light. I had a lot of fun making this quilt and my friend just loves it.

Loves Music, Loves To Dance

Boulevard de Clichy - I designed this quilt to utilize the fabrics from French General's Rural Jardin by Moda. My inspiration was from a trip to the south of France that I went on, hosted by Kaari Meng of French General. The four central blocks are surrounded with layers of borders of French braids and clam shells. It is machine quilted.

Ice Crystals - A friend in quilt guild had a gathering where we all made this pattern, I loved the look of it and decided to go with the light blue/white combination because it reminds me of ice crystals. It is one of my favourite quilts. Although it was made a few years ago (not sure when I finished it, it was several years in the making) it was finally quilted in 2009 just before I returned home to Canada.

Laurel Wreath - On the first French General group trip to Auty, France, we were each given a charm pack of the yet to be released Rouenneries collection by French General from Moda fabrics. I wanted to make a little quilt as a reminder of this trip. I designed this quilt to utilize every scrap of that charm pack! It is appliqued onto a background of pieced half-square triangles. The corners are angled, simply because I ran out of fabric. The binding is pieced small red scraps pieced together with about 15 inches of non-group fabric to finish it off.

Unnamed - This was a BOM challenge at my new quilt guild - I had a new collection of brights that I was dying to start using and this seemed like a good choice. Adding the Black/white just made the colour pop. When I brought the finished quilt to guild imagine my surprise when it was voted 'Viewer's choice' and won the ribbon. Now I know that's not like winning a ribbon in a juried quilt show, but it sure was rewarding to get my peers votes 8^). It now has a special place hanging in my quilt room.

Lone Star - I fell in love with the lime green and aqua combination of fabrics that had been sitting in my sewing room for awhile. When I was asked to teach a class for a Lone Star quilt, I wanted to make one that was a manageable size, but would create an interest in the class. This quilt was the result.

White Chocolete - Made this from a pattern I saw in a magazine called white chocolate.

Christmas Gift - This quilt was made from the Lumiere de Noel line by French General for Moda fabrics. Again, I had the entire collection as fat quarters, and wanted to use each fabric. I also wanted it to have a Christmas feel, so decided to wrap it up in a pieced bow.

Midnight Sun - This quilt was a class sample for a paper piecing class. I used bright batik prints to give the piece a nice contrast.

In The Year 2525-The Maze - "Quilting the Maze" Have you ever followed your inclination to cut pieces of fabric…sew..cut more fabric, add backing and batting and start to quilt in any direction as if you are walking a maze? Then, step back and look... some words JUMP INTO your Brain, “In The Year 2525”… that is all…nothing more…just the title words to a 1969 haunting classic…“In The Year 2525”, the quilt sings to me...

Buggaboo - I bought the pattern at a large quilt show not knowing what I planned to do with it, if I ever made it. My Grandson (5 yrs old) saw the pattern and his eyes lit up. Since he lives right upstairs and can visit any time he used to come down to see my progress often - always delighted with new blocks/finishes. The minute it was finished he had to have it on his bed and it remains there always. A fun project for sure!

Celebrations - This originated with a patriotic fabric strip exchange at my WI guild, and a log cabin variation class with Klaudeen Hansen. She encouraged us to play with settings and come up with our own. This is mine. I exchanged all Canadian patriotic with my guild - so the theme of the quilt becomes a celebration of my two homes, WI & Ontario. I decided to enter into a juried show just for the fun of it and was totally surprised to get a ribbon! It's my favourite of all my quilts!

Unnamed - My two best friends in WI came to my house for a weekend retreat - we all made the same quilt, with our own adaptations and our own fabrics. All three turned out so very different. This one is mine. It was a great weekend! Thanks for your inspiration Ricky!!

Blueberry Surprise - The fabric came first, and I knew I wanted something special from it. I also wanted it to be mine completely, so I had to also be the quilter. I finally decided on this pattern, first I made the circles, then I quilted the centers of each one, then I finally put all the circles together and stitched down the folded cresent. I anticipated getting a queen size quilt from it but the amount of fabric it took up made the quilt just a twin size. I still love it!
