The Wedding Quilt - My daughter selected this as her wedding quilt, from the book "Great American Quilts 1994," made by Nancy Smith, of N.J. I enlarged the border from the original pattern. My daughter was married in 2003, & I was finally able to present this quilt to her this past October, 2010. I would have gotten it done sooner, but there were 5 grandchildren popping up, requiring baby quilts.

Sunbonnet Sues - This was the very first applique quilt I ever made. I have made great progress in my applique abilities. The fabrics used in this quilt had sat in my stash for up to 15 years and it was an absolute pleasure to start using them, and I actually remembered where I purchased each bit of fabric.

Jigsaw Fun - I made this quilt for my grandson when he went into his first bed. He loves wild animals of any kind and when I saw the fabrics I thought this would be a fantastic design for a boy of any age. He absolutely adores it and even thought it is steeming hot at times, still has to wrap himself in it. Gotta love him.

Bear Blocks - I found in my stash a half metre of teddy prints and decided to include them in a quilt with other coloured scrap 9 block squares. Again, I have learnt how to make quicker 9 block squares (strips first then cross cutting) but I have loved every minute of my journey with quilting.

A Flag for Lou

A Flag for Lou - Red, White and Blue, all cotton. My sister called and asked me to make a small quilt for a lady that was dying of cancer. I had scraps of from a previous quilt, and decided to design something for her. A year later Lou pass away, and my sister told me she love the quilt so much that her husband buried her with it. I was so honored. The Pledge of Allegents is embroidery on the quilt.

In the Shadow of the Mill, Footsteps in Time - I grew up at 8 Henderson Street New York Mills, NY, where I lived with my grandparents the McCorducks. My sister went up the steps in Walcott Textile Mill No. 3 and took a picture of the steps looking down. That picture inspired me to make this quilt. The pictures tell a story of my family who worked in the mill for over a hundred years.
