In the Shadow of the Mill, Footsteps in Time - I grew up at 8 Henderson Street New York Mills, NY, where I lived with my grandparents the McCorducks. My sister went up the steps in Walcott Textile Mill No. 3 and took a picture of the steps looking down. That picture inspired me to make this quilt. The pictures tell a story of my family who worked in the mill for over a hundred years.

Hi Jackie - Your quilt is beautiful! I love how the stair were quilted to give the impression of the wood, even with the knotholes. What a lovely story and keepsake for your family. Fabulous work!

Your quilt is gorgeous! The perspective is wonderful, and I really like your arrangement of the photos. I usually don't care for many quilts with photo transfers, but you have inspired me to design a quilt of my own using photos of my ancestors. Thank you for sharing your quilt!
