Diamonds in the Rough 2 - I was looking for a quilt to make for a relative as a "Wear Me Out" quilt. The magazine arrived the day I started looking. It reminded me of argyle and I thought it would be a good "guy" quilt. I made the first one and presented it within 5 days of receiving the magazine. Marvin was undergoing bladder cancer surgery and the quilt needed to be done quickly. It's good to own your own longarm. I liked the quilt so much that I made a second one for myself.

Out of the Depths - Made at a time of personal turmoil, this quilt symbolizes the outward growth from the center, escaping the boundaries. The quilt won a third in the So-Fro/House of Fabrics competition one year, and won a first place in Traditional Quilts Small at Houston in 1994.
Dancing Drunken Nine Patches
Name of Maker: pknord
Dancing Drunken Nine Patches - I made this one as my entry in our Guild's Challenge. The fabric in the border and in the blocks was the Challenge fabric, and it was indeed a challenge to use. This little quilt is actually Ricky's grandquilt. After taking some classes from him, and from a few others, on curved seam piecing and other things, I tried doing some of these little curved seam nine patches, and the quilt just grew from there. It was such fun to make, and remarkably freeing. I used Sharyn Craig's setting method to make the blocks dance.
