Mary English's quilt
Name of Maker: Julie Sander
Mary English's quilt - This pattern that comes together quite quickly develops a trellis-like pattern which I loved. The floral fabrics came together so well, and I plan to make a larger version for another family member soon!
Eli's Cowboy Quilt
Name of Maker: Julie Sander
Eli's Cowboy Quilt - I wanted to use cowboy fabrics that I had been collecting to make a quilt for my cousin's daughter who was having a baby boy. I really enjoyed playing with the fabrics and fussy cutting the images to make different blocks.
Annabelle's quilt
Name of Maker: Julie Sander
Annabelle's quilt - I saw the Lakehouse Dry Goods fabrics (La Belle Rose) in a magazine a while ago in which a star was in the middle with stars all around it and border fabrics. I fell in love with the quilt, but when I found the fabric months later, could not find the pattern so I decided to make several of my own design. I also loved the green fabric (purchased from Connecting Threads) and wanted to make it a feature of the quilt. Since Annabelle's room was going to be pink and green, it was the perfect combination of fabrics.
Josie Marie's quilt
Name of Maker: Julie Sander
Josie Marie's quilt - This is the second quilt that I made using the La Belle Rose fabrics in a star pattern. As I mentioned before, I had seen these fabrics in a magazine in which a star was in the center of the quilt, but could never find the magazine to use the pattern, so I made up one.

Kelsey's Quilt - This quilt is based on a class given by Mary Lou Weidman. It tells the story of my niece who lives in Alaska.
Southern Hemi dophins
Name of Maker: Chessiesoul
Southern Hemi dophins - I combined several preprinted fabric blocks to create this. I had never done that before and it was kind of fun. I wish I could remember who had produced that print.
Flower Urinal
Name of Maker: Chessiesoul
Flower Urinal - Clark Sorenson makes art flower pottery urinals that can be used in real life. I was so impressed that I got his permission to make a quilt representing one of them. I realize the subject might be unusual but I enjoyed the process.
Betty's Bag
Name of Maker: Cindy Bettinger
Betty's Bag - Based on a photo I purchased, and then got permission from the photographer, this quilt languished unfinished for an entire year. I hadn't done much with such an uncolorful palette before, and couldn't get going on it. Betty's birthday came and went, and no purse. The following year, as her birthday approached, I'd already printed the photo out on fabric, and I had the threads in the right colors. I just jumped in and did it, and am way beyond thrilled with the result - it was a real encouragement to me to continue with similar color palettes.

My Midnight Garden - Learned to hand applique small blocks using a variety of applique methods. Designed the setting squares and applique borders. Machine quilted. Juried into the 2009 CQA/ACC National Juried Show.

"Bouquet for Mr. Tims!" - This is dedicated to my friend, Ricky Tims who without a whisper of a word, inspired me to create something I never thought I could. The quilt was just juried into the 2010 AQS Pacucah Show. Wow! I couldn't be more thrilled.
Name of Maker: Patti Hempen
"The Far East Goes South!" - Occasionally, design ideas take on a life of their own, go in a completely different direction and become a wonderful surprise. This quilt was juried into the AQS 2010 Lancaster Show. Happy girl !
Lone Star Rose
Name of Maker: pamo65
Lone Star Rose - I started the lone star in a Quilters Day Out with my guild. The original fabric from which I chose the star colors was never used. I decided to set mine on point and used a Jinny Beyer type setting. I used Michael Miller's Spanish Rose fabric and a black and metallic gold border fabric. Patsy Thompson was my inspiration for the quilting.
