Aunt Sally's Quilt
Name of Maker: John Miller
Aunt Sally's Quilt - I started this quilt 2 years ago, and left it for many months until I was invited to my Great Aunt Sally's 100th Birthday party. I thought the quilt would make a great present, so finally finished it yesterday, in time for the party tomorrow !!. This was my first jelly roll quilt, using Moda fabrics. Now it's finished, I like it alot more, but know it will be going to a good home !
Reindeer Paws - Christmas Quilt for 2010
Name of Maker: Carolyn Hughey
Reindeer Paws - Christmas Quilt for 2010 - The reindeer blocks are from Piece 'O Cake, everything else is my original design. The applique is all needle turn. I just loved these reindeer.
Quilted Briefcase
Name of Maker: Lilo Bowman
Quilted Briefcase - I wanted to make a briefcase featuring this great Log Cabin variation. The original pattern was for a tote bag, so I increased the number of blocks. I also added my own applique design to the sides. The flowers are made using buttons. All of the fabrics are from my collection of Japanese fabrics.
Peachtree Picasso
Name of Maker: kudzuquilter
Peachtree Picasso - I purchased the center panel from a fabric store when a Picasso exhibit was showing in Atlanta. I put it away for many years before finally designing a wall quilt with it.
Heart of the Tomato
Name of Maker: Nepeanquilter
Heart of the Tomato - This was created as a challenge to the RAQG members. We were asked to exchange magazines and then turn to page 39 and create a quilt from what we saw on that page. Here is my interpretation of page 39 of my magazine.
Michael's Quilt
Name of Maker: Luvspaper
Michael's Quilt - Machine Pieced and Quilted using fat quarters; Quilted using Leafs in Circle with stippling in between...and then framed with a stippling frame.
The Black Fern
Name of Maker: LuAnn Kessi
The Black Fern - Jello Printed Fern on Muslin Fabric with acrylic paints on gelatin pad.
Butterflies II
Name of Maker: Susan Keyes
Butterflies II - My first quilt! I used patterns from Barbara Eikmeier's excellent quilt book for kids for my first three quilts. I pieced the entire quilt and then quilted in the ditch entirely on my trusty mechanical Brother. I ran into trouble with the stippling and took advantage of a sale to purchase my 440 QE. By then I felt the need for a needle down feature if nothing else!
Longhorns
Name of Maker: Susan Keyes
Longhorns - I used the Becky's Star pattern to make two quilts. This one was a gift for my partner's grandparents, who happen to be rabid University of Texas Longhorn fans. My partner is an Aggie, so anyone from Texas can imagine how she had to grit her teeth when I brought all that burnt orange fabric home! The quilting is all straight stitch (grid pattern) on this one. I was in in a hurry to get it done in time for Christmas.
Danielle's Quilt
Name of Maker: Cindy Rodriguez
Danielle's Quilt - I made this baby quilt for my great niece who was born on Christmas Eve 2009. The pineapple blocks are paper pieced.
The First Twelve
Name of Maker: djane
The First Twelve - This was the first BOM I had participated in. Some of the blocks were a challenge especially the one with the set-in square in the centre. I learned a lot of new things and improved my skills by participating in the BOM at my local quilt store. The blocks were chosen by my local quilt store but I chose the final layout as I did not want to do the quilt with a medallion that the quilt store used.
