Fall Quilt - I love the colors of fall! I wanted a "cuddle quilt" using this color pallete and pieced this just for fun, working on a design wall. I added piping for the first time to a quilt. Backed with flannel for comfyness.

Snowflake Star Pillow

unknown - This was my first quilt. It was a purchased pattern, but got lost somewhere during one of our many moves. The quilt now belongs to my daughter. Even though she has two little boys, this quilt has never been used.

Texas Cowboy Crests - This wall hanging consists of 12 machine embroidery designs set in a variation of log cabin blocks. Both the digitized designs and the block settings were designed by Susa Glenn of Fredericksburg, TX

You Go Cowgirl! - The images are enlarged, vintage post-cards transferred to fabric sheets. I used western theme fabrics to create the "frames" for the images. It was my first attempt at machine quilting so there are a few mistakes. I used mono filament thread....never again!

Checkers - I used my stash of Cherry Wood fabrics. It really turned out nice. It belongs to my youngest grandson now. He's busy using it up...ha ha

Grandma's Baskits - Authors of the book = Marsha McCloskey & Sharon Evans Yenter. This Blended Quilt pattern was designed by Jackie Quinn. I substituted my Mom's hand embroidery for the "focus fabric" blocks in the original pattern. It was given to my niece, Patricia.

Tuscan Countryside - Houses are from photos taken on trip to Italy. The sunflower & red floral fabrics I had in my stash dictated what would surround my houses. I originally wanted to create a water front quilt but, decided to use my floral fabrics which resulted in a country scene. Some textile paints were used for shading. Applique shapes are fused then stitched with monofilament thread.

Father Brunkan's Quilt - We made this quilt for our priest, Father Walter Brunkan, of St. Mary's Church in Greene. Each block represents a part his service to the parish and community.

Patriotic Jacob's Ladder - Red, white & blue color theme

PhatKats - Fun and easy fan block with a pieced background that's not applique nor curved piecing! Each cat came together quickly. Great for scraps!

Sunflowers - I embroidered the Sunflowers on my embroidery machine (built-in design on the Janome 11000). The blocks were embroidered in the 8x8 inch hoop using random colours on hand and then each block was cut down after embroidery was complete. I collect the scrap strips left over from sashing and bindings on other projects: I used this scrap collection to do a form of crazypatch as the frame for each block. Each block was trimmed to the same size & sewn together. I added 2 borders before sandwiching and quilting. Most of the quilting was machine decorative stitches using the same varigated cotton thread throughout.

Wildflowers - This quilt is my adaptation of the Wildflowers Design CD and Quilt pattern by Smith Street Designs. The machine embroidery designs are all applique in the hoop. I embroidered the blocks and then put them together using my own arrangement - similar to, but not the same as, the pattern instructions. 100% cotton batik fabric was used throughout. I sewed leftover batik strips together and then cut them up & sewed them together again to form the rows of tiny blocks in the sashing/borders of some of the blocks. Most of the applique fabric was from one batik fat quarter: I used different sections of the multi-colour print. Machine quilted using decorative stitches on my sewing machine.

Spring is coming - Pretty machine embroidered blocks in blue, yellow & green form the basis of this 4 block wall quilt or table topper. Embroidery design is a built-in design on the Janome 350E and Elna 8300. I used blue & yellow prints for the sashing, borders & binding. This is not a complicated pattern, just a simple project to cheer up the winter blues and look forward to the arrival of Spring. Quilted by machine and embellished with machine decorative stitching.
