Leaves - I made this wall hanging in a class at a shop in Taylorsville, NC. The instructor told us the name of the person who designed this piece but I've since forgotten. A TQS member suggests this technique is from Colleen Wise's 'Casting Shadows" book.

Rose Whole Cloth Quilt - This was made in a recent whole-cloth trapunto class taught by Judy Whitehead in Mooresville, NC.

Cherry Quilt - This quilt was made in celebration of the cherry trees we have that have just started producing in the last two years. This quilt hung in my kitchen this summer.

Walker Family Album Quilt - I made this quilt for my grandmother who was 90 years old. I had family members sign the blocks and add their birthday.

Liberty Eagle - I made this quilt for my husband who is active duty Air Force. He picked out the pattern and helped me pick the fabric.

My Mother's Fower Garden - My mom, Martha Jones, hand pieced the flowers from her stash, the flowers were kept in a closed box that preserved the fresh colors of the old fabrics. I hand appliqued them and set the pattern. Mom said "that's not the way to do it" I said , "But, mom that's the way I need to it, I am not a good enough piecer to do it the proper way" There were enough flowers to make a quilt for each of my four daughters, if I ever get them all finished. This quilt won a blue ribbon for best use of old blocks, in the Colorado State Fair.

Big Star - My husband had been after me to make a quilt for our bed and so I finally did. It gave me a great excuse to redecorate the bedroom!

Moose Cabin01 - Cabins, arns and log buildings in the woods, along with moose heads, bears, canoe & paddles. This was made especially for my daughter.

Strawberry Quilt01 - Granddaughter LOVES Strawberry Shortcake, so gramma made her one. All the characters, even a ice cream soda.

Great Gazania - Designed and constructed in a Quilt University class called "Flower Power" taught by Sue Brittingham. I used hand applique, machine applique and upside down applique as well as colored pencils and six shades of yellow thread and five shades of orange thread. I'm not really sure if I did extremely heavy machine quilting or is it thread painting? Oh well, I like the result.

Lafe Angell's "Golden Age of Baseball" - This quilt was juried into the AQS Paducah Show of 2006 which thrilled and amazed me. It was made to be a wall quilt for my son's game room.

The Wedding Quilt - Quilt started as a BOM from Byrnes Sewing Connection. I added the applique and borders and a friend embroidered the wording on the quilt for me. I hope to give the quilt to a friend this weekend.

My Little Mini - My first miniature. I made a traditional block; added borders; turned it on point; then patched frame and corners. My sister became teary-eyed when she opened her Christmas present! ;-)

Ryan's Quilt - Combines Contrary Wife block and Snowball block. Snowball provided the opportunity to showcase a lovely children's novelty print. Made for my grandson.

Quilt Four Sense - I decided to reduce the block size by starting with 4-inch scraps instead of the 5-inch Pat Speth had specified. Therefore inferred 4 cents in name instead of nickle.

Mystery Quilt 2006 - Mystery quilts are fun, but kind of scary since you don't know what you're going to end up with. This quilt was started on my first night as a member of our local quilt club. I was greenhorn sewer at the time and the club members were very welcoming, helpful and friendly.

My Amish Garden - I combined two sets of swap blocks for this quilt-- 6 inch Nine Patch blocks set on point in black, and 9 inch Churn Dash blocks. The blocks combined well but needed a soft border applique to set them off.
