Swirling Circles

Art Quilt
Name of Maker: Norina Perry
Art Quilt - My daughter a few weeks ago has sent her kids off to college. This was the morning that Lindsey went off to Maine. We all waited, so I took pictures of us waiting for her. She finally came out (wet eyes) and they finally went to Maine. Justin to Bridgewater State. So I put together a art quilt for Renee's birthday in October.

Baby Wedding Ring
Name of Maker: Donna Gayle Coleman
Baby Wedding Ring - This is a Double Wedding Ring baby quilt made using a technique I have developed called Double Turn Applique. I have taught numerous classes on this technique and have a lot of people in our area using the technique. This quilt was made for a niece of mine's daughter. My pattern number for this quilt is DGD-2006-002.
Sam's Half Log Cabin
Name of Maker: Donna Gayle Coleman
Sam's Half Log Cabin - My pattern DGC 2007-001. This is a pattern that I teach to show people how to use my Double-Turn Applique technique. This is a technique I've developed to turn under the edges of the applique pieces 2-4 pieces at a time; then they are ready to be appliqued to the background by machine or by hand. This particular one is used to teach how to use Double-Turn Applique to applique blocks that are directional. Since most everyone wants to know how to make a log cabin, they have a choice of either making the traditional log cabin or just the half log cabin.
No Bull
Name of Maker: Donna Gayle Coleman
No Bull - This is a wall hanging I made from a photo (next to quilt) of my grandson climbing a fence to see some of his father's bulls. While tracing a photo of some of their bulls to put in the background, I had an interesting conversation with my grandson about bulls and decided I better not put a bull in the background because I might omit a part of its anatomy. This is why the title is No Bull. It was appliqued down with lots of thread play on it. I have since given it to my grandson to hang in his bedroom on their ranch in Winnie.
Hannah's Quilt
Name of Maker: Donna Gayle Coleman
Hannah's Quilt - My cousin Dillie Tyus has cancer and is trying to make all her kids and grandkids a quilt. She had one more to make and just can't sit for that long anymore. She was concerned that this quilt might not be made and she wanted them each to have a quilt from her. I told her I would make it for her. It's just a typical string quilt. Dillie started teaching her granddaughter, Hannah, to make a block and she completed one. I embroidered on that block the fact that Hannah had made that block when she was 10 years old. They received the block on 9/9/09. Dillie is now trying to decide if she should show her granddaughter the quilt or have her mother give it to her on her wedding day. So glad I was able to help Dillie fulfill her dream.
Floral Swap Quilt
Name of Maker: Donna Gayle Coleman
Floral Swap Quilt - Quild members were always swapping floral fabrics, etc. so I came up with the design by placing floral squares together with a 1/4" folded fabric between each block; then added a border. I've taught classes on this. Works great for cowboy, leaf, children's etc swaps.
