David'sCrazyQuilt - Quilt was assembled using the flip and sew method of crazy quilting, and with a variety of decorative stitches using various weights of rayon, holoshimmer, and metallic threads.
Lost in Space Debris - Whimsical idea based on former NASA contact memories and recent spaceship excursions. The spaceship has "USA" and "NASA" penned on it.
Celebrating 65 Years of Marriage - Features wedding pictures of all 5 siblings in addition to my parents. In addition, each family created a block that expressed their family, and I embroidered a block commemorating the occasion.
Balenkay - Balenkay is made with elongated New York Beauty blocks and dimensional curved flying geese blocks, also incorporating applique. The dimensional curved flying geese blocks are created in part by making dimensional flying geese and using my manipulated bias method. Moda's Porto Bello Market line of fabrics were used. Balenkay was featured in McCall's magazine as part of a bio piece.
Quilter's Palette - This quilt top was make in the course given by Annie Smith from Quilting Stash (http://simplearts.com/blogs/).
The course was 11 weeks, and perfect for me.
:-)
"When Someone Touches Our Lives for Good" - Design taken from book, "Open a Can of Worms", by Debbie Caffrey. The squares werecreated from Moda "Portobello Market" charm packs. This quilt was pieced and quilted in 2 weeks as a gift for a very special friend.
All Roads Lead to Grandma's House - This was my very first pieced quilt which was made for my oldest granddaughter, Megan. We live on opposite sides of the US and the pattern reminded me of highways -- hence the name, "All Roads Lead to Grandma's House".
"Diary" of First Year Quilts - This quilt seemed a good way to document the fabric used in my first year quilts. Some of the wedges have different fabrics pieced within the wedges. This soon became old and tiresome, so I ended up using single pieces of fabric in the seemingly never-ending process. :):)
#2; - I took a class to make this quilt because I wanted to learn the latest stripping, piecing, and quilting techniques. The quilt was given to a nephew's newborn son.
Sunflowers at Harvest Time - Background features Ricky Tim's hand dyed fabrics and his convergence method. Sunflowers and grapes are fussy cut and fused onto the quilt. Made for a challenge at Quilt Fever Camp.
