Pals
Name of Maker: Anita Graham
Pals - This quilt was a gift for a co-workers daughter. I was making a baby quilt when I heard that this was to be his second child. Well as a big sis myself I did not want the older girl (only 3) to feel left out so I made this out of some messed up blocks from another project.

Baby Mason's first quilt
Name of Maker: sewgentle
Baby Mason's first quilt - I found the Peter Rabbit fabric and wanted to feature the little scenes. The nursery was green, but I wanted it to be for a boy so I used blue and green complimentary fabrics. I hand quilted it so it would be soft for the newborn. I also covered the bassinet in the green toile fabric.
checks & plaids
Name of Maker: anne carter
checks & plaids - I needed to use up my stash of checks & plaids but this huge quilt has hardly made a dent in it! It was fun & very quick to make as each of the 64 blocks is the same. I chose to divide the sections into manageable sizes in order to practise different free motion quilting designs with the "quilt as you sew" technique. I used large pieces of checks on the back and dark blue cotton fabric to bind the sections and the edges. Recently exhibited at our regional show, the judge told me it was a very close runner up for her judge's choice award. I was thrilled with a close second!
Tancho, Keeper of Fidelity
Name of Maker: Rhoda
Tancho, Keeper of Fidelity - Tancho is the Chinese name for the red crested crane. They mate for life. Is this one searching for a new mate or pondering the passing of her former mate? This piece won 1st place Viewers Choice at our local quilt show in April. Raw edge applique, using my hand dyed fabric. Quilted on my home machine.

DNA - Threads of Life - Center is paper-pieced and appliqued. In the border are free-motion depictions of plants, animals, etc. (i.e., things that contain DNA). Made for submission to Sacred Threads 2009.

Name of Maker: Norina Perry
"Seaside" - This fabric is one of a kind. Was printed up for Heartbeat Quilts in Hyannis, Ma. They sold the fabric bythe yard and also in kits for quilts. I purchased the kit and did it all winter long. I had Maureen Anderson do the long arm quilting. We both belong to Hering Run Quilting Guild. I have also entered it in the Quilters TV new seashore themed challenge.
