lizzyanne checks & plaids - I needed to use up my stash of checks & plaids but this huge quilt has hardly made a dent in it! It was fun & very quick to make as each of the 64 blocks is the same. I chose to divide the sections into manageable sizes in order to practise different free motion quilting designs with the "quilt as you sew" technique. I used large pieces of checks on the back and dark blue cotton fabric to bind the sections and the edges. Recently exhibited at our regional show, the judge told me it was a very close runner up for her judge's choice award. I was thrilled with a close second!
