Himalayan May Apples - Pink/ white Himalayan May Apples appear in the woods in early spring when the ground is bare. Their leaves start out orange/ brown, wrapped like a cloak around the stem. After the flower dies, the leaves open out and turn green.
Gardenias in Devin's Garden - I made this quilt for my niece, Devin. She's part Polynesian, so batiks were perfect! The 3-d gardenias in the corners are in honor of her middle name, Kiele, Hawaiian for gardenia.
A Window on Luther's World - This stained-glass style quilted banner was made to hang on a large wall behind the altar at my church as a general use, all-season banner.
Amanda's Dresden Flower - This is the caption in the magazine: Capper's Weekly, a weekly newspaper published since 1897, printed this design in 1935 as a nameless pillow pattern. It is a challenging pieced variation of the familiar appliqued Dresden Plate block. The kite-shaped points in the four corners connect the blocks when they are sewn together. Plain alternating blocks will provide an opportunity to show off some fancy quilting.

Kelley's quilt - My daughter collects Japanese fans. She drew the design for this quilt. This is the second quilt I ever made, and its completley hand quilted...so far the only quilt to be hand quilted!
Gecko Bling-Bling - Fabric collage based on a Gecko collage in Susan Carlson's Freestyle Quilts book, and added my own embellishments of Angelina fiber, beads, metallic threads, and free-motion quilting.
Sweet Life - A combination of two designs from Jacobean Rhapsodies. Machine appliqued using a tiny blanket stitch that I created for my sewing machine and echo quilted. A birthday gift for my best friend.
Hot Diggety Dogs - Pieced baby quilt using mostly Laurel Burch fabrics. Quilted borders have enlarged versions of two dog motifs (blue) in the Cats and Dogs fabrics. Machine appliqued patches in each corner.
Carpenter's Star - Traditional pattern made with batiks. Original quilting designs around perimeter of star. I made this for my father, who has done lots of woodworking in his lifetime.
My New York - my very 1st quilt - This was my very first quilt and I became addicted to quilting. My neighbor, Charlotte was teaching a class and she suggested I take her class. I used luminocity fabric and put the blocks together as I wanted. The design in the magazine was a wall hanging but I made mine as a lap quilt.
