Lily's Quilt
Name of Maker: Joanne Knapp

Davian's Quilt
Name of Maker: Valerie Beaver
Davian's Quilt - The original quilt pattern had fabrics in pastel colors, which is right in my color comfort zone. Davian's mommy asked for bright colors, so I picked the bright background and then used softer hand-dyed fabrics for the applique. I didn't really like it until it was all sewn together with the yellow sashing.

Accessorize!
Name of Maker: Marilyn Altenbach
Accessorize! - Pillowcases and fabric bowl made from the scraps of Nikki's quilt "Tutti Frutti Tropical Patootie". A quilt isn't finished unless you accessorize it. I would have made a bed ruffle but she has a bunk bed.

Shimmering Sight - I made this quilt for the AQS Contest - New Quilts from an Old Favorite - Burgoyne Surrounded.
Five Little Monkeys
Name of Maker: Stephanie Peterson
Five Little Monkeys - This quilt was so fun to make. It represents a lot of firsts for me: (a) first quilt I did embroidery on, (b) first quilt I quilted myself (much of it on my friend's long arm machine), (c) first quilt I used a quilted embroidery design for some of the patches, (d) first quilt I embroidered the quilt label on, (e) first scrappy binding, and (f) first quilt where I did everything, from start to finish. This was a ton of fun to make, and I learned so much about embroidery on this quilt. Had done some embroidery before, but not like this. The monkey embroidery designs were purchased from oregonpatchworks.com. The design set is called Monkey Shines. My stipple quilting for the blank blocks was embroidery designs purchased from myfairladydesigns.com. This is going to be a baby gift for my dear colleague, Dr. Jeong-il Cho. It will be a hard one to give up!
Winter Wonderland
Name of Maker: Lydia
Winter Wonderland - Winter Wonderland is a quilted tree skirt about 60 inches diameter. The fabric top is pieced jacqard and the bottom is quilter's cotton. The machine embroidery designs are from Husquvarna-Viking and were done on the quilt top using cut-away stabilizer. After the quilt sandwich was assembed, the sandwich was meander quilted. I added buttons from my grandmothers button collection, sparkles, and beads. The beads were applied by machine using a bare-needle technique with lowered feed dogs.

Kaleidescope Fun
Name of Maker: Candace Door
Kaleidescope Fun - Watching Ricky explain the Kaleidescope quilt was amazing. I thought...I can do this...in fact, I'm going to try. I had to watch parts of the show twice but for the most part his explanation was enough the first time. He's right in saying that the design is not something you can plan. This was a lot of fun to make.
