Design Source - Description | This quilt was so fun to make. It represents a lot of firsts for me: (a) first quilt I did embroidery on, (b) first quilt I quilted myself (much of it on my friend's long arm machine), (c) first quilt I used a quilted embroidery design for some of the patches, (d) first quilt I embroidered the quilt label on, (e) first scrappy binding, and (f) first quilt where I did everything, from start to finish. This was a ton of fun to make, and I learned so much about embroidery on this quilt. Had done some embroidery before, but not like this. The monkey embroidery designs were purchased from oregonpatchworks.com. The design set is called Monkey Shines. My stipple quilting for the blank blocks was embroidery designs purchased from myfairladydesigns.com. This is going to be a baby gift for my dear colleague, Dr. Jeong-il Cho. It will be a hard one to give up! |
