Nihon Kasa o Raiu,Japanese Umbrellas in Thundersto - Japanese umbrellas scatter across the orange ombre and cherry blossom "sky" in a driving rain storm. Crystal raindrops accent the down pour. Several actual Japanese fabrics were used in the umbrellas.

Alice From the Palace - Translated from a photo of my Mother. Living with Dementia the last years of her life, she insisted everything around her be the color of blue. I took a class from Pam Holland who helped me tremendously in selecting fabrics and designing the image.

Circles around Batiks - The center of the quilt is made from pre-cut curved pieces by John Flynn. I bordered the center using a free motion feather pattern.

Nature Bouquet of Friendship - This was a round robin quilt, which I started with a fused McKenna Ryan pattern. Seven of my quilt buds each added their own original designs to complete the top. I finished the quilt by repeating the ribbon like applique around the outside and finishing with free motion quilting.

Applique Delights - Adopted applique blocks from Becky Goldsmith and Linda Jenkins book. This project was a "traveling" project worked on while away from my machine by hand. The applique blocks are echo quilted and I used hot piping around the binding.
Emerald Coast

Emerald Coast - We live in Michigan, but spent two winters in Panama City Beach Florida. When I saw this pattern in the magazine, I knew I had to make it. Since we were unable to go South this winter, this was my therapy quilt adopted from the original pattern to remind me of the beautiful blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Center medallion is paper pieced.
In Memory of Lillian Snyder

In Memory of Lillian Snyder - The center panel of the quilt was painted and the grapes added by reverse applique. Additional grapes, cheese and wine were placed around this panel as Lillian was an Icarian in Nauvoo, IL. and those were their products. The cork fabric and the Drunkard's Path squares have been included to keep with the theme. Lillian was not a drunkard, but she was essential in keeping the Icarian's history in newsletters that she produced.

25th Wedding Anniversary Fantasy - Crazy quilt commemorating my twenty fifth wedding anniversary. The back is in the pattern of fans with various lace borders. The edge is a burgundy ruffle sandwiched with 20 yards of antique lace.
