Goin' Fishin'
Name of Maker: Diane McLauchlan
Goin' Fishin' - Fabric has fish, flies, poles, etc. Quilting is grid work. This was a last minute gift idea.
House On Willow Hill
Name of Maker: Becca
House On Willow Hill - House quilts are a favorite of mine. This quilt was designed for a contest and was featured in McCall's Quilting as a 5 part series quilt. I used many different techniques to achieve the design elements so that this would be a real learning adventure.
Quiet Village
Name of Maker: Becca
Quiet Village - I wanted to design village quilt. Originally it was going to be a very brightly colored fantasy village, but then a hillside village in Tuscany developed. I used manipulated bias to achieve the curved diamonds of color in the "tile" wall around the village. This quilt is being featured in McCall's Quilting magazine in their June to October issues.
Monocular I
Name of Maker: Robin Gausebeck
Monocular I - My minigroup decided to explore circles for one of our small projects. This was my contribution. I ran into problems with the fusible web I was using (SteamASeam) so I am not happy with the quality of the quilt, but I like the design enough to play around with it some more.
Bouvier Bear
Name of Maker: Becca
Bouvier Bear - I designed this quilt for our first grandchild. It's made entirely of bright flannels. Naming the quilt was easy - one of Nicholas' early and most favorite words was "bouvier".....so the quilt was named "Bouvier Bear". Featured in Quilt Magazine
Title not yet Determined
Name of Maker: Robin Gausebeck
Title not yet Determined - This quilt will be auctioned off by the Rockford (IL) Symphony Orchestra as part of its 75th anniversary celebration. The words are from the choral movement of Beethoven's 9th Symphony as are the musical notes that appear on the staff lines. I used Melinda Bula's fusing technique for the figure of Beethoven. Each letter was traced on to the fabric; I quilted around each one individually, then colored them in with fabric markers. There is a little bit of subtle thread-painting used to "dress up" the figure, but not so much that it becomes a distraction from the overall impact.
Birdhouses of Key West
Name of Maker: sandyharrison

Birdhouses of Key West - I purchased this pattern on my first trip to Key West two years ago. I wanted to make it to commemorate our trip there, so I used batiks in sealife, flower and butterfly patterns. It is machine and hand quilted with purple and gold metallic thread and embellished with beads, Adornaments fibers, shells and coral that followed me home from a wonderful vacation.

For My Dad
Name of Maker: Annette

For My Dad - This is a lap quilt that I made for my dad. He was in the army air corps division. He worked on planes as a mechanic during World War 11. He always wanted to be a pilot but that dream was never acheived. That is the inspiration for the design.

Red Hat Friendship
Name of Maker: Annette
Red Hat Friendship - Red Hat Fabric used with the friendship stars. Made for my sister so she would be warm at work as a professor in mn winters.
Viola
Name of Maker: annette
Viola - My nephew graduated from college as a music major. His instrument of choice is the Viola. So I shopped for music fabric for a couple of years before making his quilt. I wanted it masculine and reflect my nephew. He loves it!!
Hungry Caterpillar
Name of Maker: annette
Hungry Caterpillar - The quilt pattern in magazine was too small and wasted some of the fabric on the panels that I felt looked better included. I liked the idea of the attic window for the borders. Without seeing the quilt in the magazine I would not have been inspired to make my own version.
Baby Bear
Name of Maker: Sandy Stephens
Baby Bear - Circles again using technique shown by Alex Anderson. Baby gift for a co-worker's first baby girl, born March 5, 2009!

Ancient Rhapsodies
Name of Maker: Cindy Neville
Ancient Rhapsodies - A rhapsody quilt based on petroglyphs from the American southwest. The skeleton is landforms-hoodoos, buttes and arches. The petroglyphs include Kokopeli , a warrior, snakes, lizards, owls, antelopes and elk and a spiral.
Out of the Depth
Name of Maker: Muriel Roberts
Out of the Depth - Approx. 54" x 54" Log cabin blocks some skewed to give an illusion of depth - drawing your eye to the centre of the quilt.
African Stars
