Pack
Name of Maker: Betweens
Pack - All from one fabric no background fabric, stack-whack-design on design wall for a whole new creation.
Flaming Pride
Name of Maker: Joseph Stroman
Flaming Pride - Pink triangles were used by the Nazis during the Holocaust to identify homosexuals in the death camps. This symbol has been reclaimed by gays and lesbians as a symbol of pride as we continue to fight oppression
Spiraling Out of Control
Name of Maker: Guin Deadman
Spiraling Out of Control - This quilt began in a class at the local quilt shop, using Barbara Olson's book 'Journey of an Art Quilter', where I pieced the center spirals. The teacher told us to leave the outer tails longer so we would have the option to do whatever we wanted to with our quilt (hers had become a flower), mine decided it wanted to continue spiraling. I free hand drew the various spiral shapes, and cut them out using the pieces cut out as more spirals and then adding more smaller ones too. Including the center spiral there are 96 spiral shapes total, hence "Spiraling Out Of Control". I also outlined each section in the center spiral with a coordinating novelty yarn. This quilt is still a work in progress, I believe it is close to being ready to be quilted.

Moonlit butterfly
Name of Maker: Erin Davis
Moonlit butterfly - After making the butterfly I decided it would make a great medallion on a queen size bed, so I created a square, and added borders to make it larger

Grandmother's Stars
Name of Maker: Mary Kuntz
Grandmother's Stars - My version is a bit larger than the pattern but I was inspired by their use of scraps and scrappy quilts are my favorite.
Blended in Romance
Name of Maker: Mary Kuntz
Blended in Romance - This quilt is in the final stages of finish work. I am just getting the binding on, it always seems my projects get put on hold when I have other quilters work to finish. But I love having projects in different stages so I can finish what I feel like doing at the moment, whenever that free moment arises, and I am never grumbly about it as I have choices created out of my own procrastination.(smile)

Pillow Shams, and a small runner
Name of Maker: Connie Frick
Pillow Shams, and a small runner - These are 3 of my little quilts, 2 of which are Pillow Shams. The little table runner is done in the Red, White and Blues for the 4th of July table. I followed the directions for paper piecing, but set all the patterns up to suit myself, the settings are original ideas of my own.

Catch A Falling Star
Name of Maker: Patty Matthews
Catch A Falling Star - This is a mother-daughter quilt. I machine pieced it and my mother (age 86) hand quilted it. I love Eleanor Burns patterns because they are easy to follow and pieces can be squared up to fix any errors. My focus in this top was to work with greyed colors and pure colors. I placed the pure colors on the star points so they glow.
Grandma's Gift
Name of Maker: Patty Matthews
Grandma's Gift - I have my great-grandmothers wedding quilt; it is a Carolina Lily made in the 1870's. I was insipred by that quilt and by Carol Steiner's quilt 'Lilies are Forever' in the MAQS Founders collection. I made this quilt to honor my great-granddmother. The center medallion was hand-pieced using traditional techniques. The outer blocks were paper-peiced using contemporary techniques. The photo shows the quilt on my design wall with paper overlays showing some of the the quilting patterns I used. The was hand quilted by my mother and given to neighbor who is like a daughter so it continues the Grandmother's Gift legacy.
Java Jive
Name of Maker: Shelley Baldwin
Java Jive - I made this to hang on my kitchen wall. I then used left over fabric to make a tablecloth that matches.
Water Lilies
Name of Maker: Shelley Baldwin
Water Lilies - I saw Aie Rossman's work on Simply Quilts and had to have one of her patterns. I omitted the appliqued border and chose to machine quilt the border with the the applique design with a verigated thread.
