Design Source - Description | I have my great-grandmothers wedding quilt; it is a Carolina Lily made in the 1870's. I was insipred by that quilt and by Carol Steiner's quilt 'Lilies are Forever' in the MAQS Founders collection. I made this quilt to honor my great-granddmother. The center medallion was hand-pieced using traditional techniques. The outer blocks were paper-peiced using contemporary techniques. The photo shows the quilt on my design wall with paper overlays showing some of the the quilting patterns I used. The was hand quilted by my mother and given to neighbor who is like a daughter so it continues the Grandmother's Gift legacy. |
