Horseplay

In 2009, artist Bob Coonts gave me permission to use his stylized animals (found online) as insporation for art quilts. This quilt is the second one and was inspired by my local guild's challenge in 2014 with the theme "DOT." Drafting the pattern was easy, but assembly another story. However, I had so much fun making it that "Spirit Stallion II" had to be renamed "Horseplay." This quilt won two ribbons in that challenge, one for most effective visual impact, and the other was 'viewers' choice.'
In January 2015, I attended an art show in Scotsdale AZ and the first booth inside the door was Bob Coonts! How delightful to meet him and thank him in person for making art that inspires me to make art.
