Design Source - Description | Bell Rock is a magnificent sandstone monolith in Sedona, Arizona. This representation is from a photograph I took. The quilt was constructed in stages. First the sky and foreground, then Bell Rock was painted and machine appliqued. Then the middle ground tree trunks and middle ground bushes were painted. Finally the foreground trees and the rocks were added and the grasses were fused and free motion stitched onto the piece. In addition to fabric paint I also used oil pastels and fabric markers for the details. Other than the border and binding, it is totally hand painted. |
