One day my mom mentioned a box of "old fabric scraps" she had from her grandmother. When we opened the box, it was an unfinished double wedding ring quilt top. All of the fabric is in the box, ready to finish it. Since Mom doesn't make quilts, I begged for the opportunity to finish it. So, here goes... And the mystery is...why didn't Great-Grandma finish it? Why are (most of) the cut out pieces just a shade too small? And, somebody else worked on it (who?) because there are some "obviously not 1930s fabric" in it. (I'm taking those out.) I also have ALL the cardboard templates, 2 newspaper articles (dated) about Double Wedding Ring quilt patterns, some old pins, needles, thread... This is such a treasure! |
