lizzyanne Caroline Sharkey meets Ricky Tims underwater! - I attended a workshop with Caroline Sharkey of NSW Australia for her "Painting with Fabrics & Threads" technique and used a Ricky Tims Convergence for the background. I'd taken a photograph of a turtle at an aquarium so used my drawing from that as the pattern. Snippets of fabrics & threads were placed onto the background and covered with water soluble fabric and machine stitched to keep the threads in place, then it was rinsed to get rid of the washaway. The turtle was made with the same technique and appliqued into place. I used a sparkle fabric for the border with two rows of shaggy wool to define the border.
