Nesting 2

Nesting 2 - This is the second quilt in my Nesting quilt series. I wanted to make a second quilt using a different colorway, and different fabrics. The design changed a bit, as I worked on it in EQ6. I added baskets in the corners, and nest blocks, with little appliqued eggs, and included hand embroidery (seed stitches), and some small glass seed beads. This quilt celebrates new life and beauty of creation. I have been drawn to paisley shapes lately, and have used them in 2 quilts now. After researching a bit about "paisley" designs, I found they are based on a "bota" design which is a symbol of life and fertility. I quilted the quilt using my built-in Pfaff IDT walking foot. This quilt has been exhibited at the Machine Quilter's Exposition, April 13-18, 2009, (Quilt show is April 16-18), at the Knoxville, TN AQS Show, July 22-25, 2009 and at the 2009 Pacific International Quilt Show, October 15-18, 2009. It was exhibited this year at the 2010 AQS Lancaster, PA Show, March 24-27 2010, and will be exhibited at the Denver National Quilt Festival, April 29 - May 2, 2010.
