Design Source - Description | This is another top I have made for the "Make a quilt for the soldiers" project. I liked the combination of black and white with blue. I hope we're able to send a lot of them over. Someone had asked why "no red, white and blue quilts". Part of the reason is that they are probably inundated with patriotic gestures and something cozy and homey or bright and cheerful will make them feel good. Someone else mentioned the fact that the caskets of the soldiers who have died are draped in the flag, so it might be a bit uncomfortable to sleep under the flag. Just an opinion. It's a great project and Quilt Lovers' Hangout is really being generous and working hard to make it a success. I'm going to make one more that I hope to show soon. |
