PattyC This block was made in memory of Diana Padro who was killed when the plane hit the Pentagon on 9-11. It was forwarded to the group that was making the 9-11 quilt. I made a duplicate copy, quilted it, and sent it to her husband. Did not hear from him for over a year. Then I received a Christmas card from him. He told me how much the block meant to him and that he kept it out to show. Diana worked in Finance, so I included coins in purple. The butterfly represented life. Wedding rings were added for her marriage. I selected Diana because we shared the same birthday, but I am older.
