This Crazy Quilt is constructed using my technique. You sew one time, and that is when you embellish your seams. I cleaned out my button jar on this quilt. Blocks are 16" and sashing is 2" I made a crazy quilt from one of my daughters wedding dresses. It was difficult to insert lace and trim with the seams already sewn. I did not like sewing it on top and ripping to tuck ends in. I designed a technique for block construction that allows you to insert lace and trim under an unsewn seam. It is better for me, to have a finished block first, then decide where I want lace. Once you decide what and where you want you trims to be place, then you sew one time and the seam and the trim is all done in one step. I love this technique and so do my students. The method can be used on clothing also. I do sell this pattern and my patterns are published by me under Dean Deerfield Designs. |
