Each of the flower blocks are hand-drawn, hand appliqued and hand-embroidered (crazy quilt technique). The rest of the blocks are 9 patches used to create a diamond-shaped design over the entire quilt. This is a give-away quilt that was made by the volunteers of Firehouse Quilts, a nonprofit organization based in Highlands Ranch CO. It was used as a fund raiser and finally given to Brenda Keegan in Littleton CO as the winner. For closer views of each flower block: family.webshots.com/album/550734078KDMnLS |
