Design Source - Description |
My first Art Quilt!!_br_ This is the foundation piece in a series of design studies showcasing line and color in abstract geometric forms. It demonstrates that embroidery can be the quilt design itself and not only an accent or motif in the quilt. The concentric arcs and the layering of the colors allow several patterns to form in a dynamic effect. When viewed from 9 feet away while moving sideways, the circles seem to spin in the resulting moiré effect. Hence from the (1.25 million) stitches spring the fabric and design. |
