Using a photo of a stargazer lily that she took in her mother's garden as the basis, the main reason that Andrea Brokenshire wanted to create Stargazer Splendor was to make the anthers, "the part of a stamen that contains the pollen", of the flower. Enthralled with their texture, and their contrast against the fuchsia color, it was this feature that Andrea focused her work on for this piece. As a surprise bonus, there's is a bug hiding in the quilt too. Can you spot where it is?
