QuiltCon West 2016 had two very special exhibits by two pioneers in the world of art and modern quilting. This puzzle is "Greek" by Molly Upton featured in one of those exhibits, "The Quilts of Molly Upton."

"The Quilts of Molly Upton" highlights the work of Molly Upton a pioneer in the early stages of the art quilt movement.  Molly was known for working with velvet, silks, corduroy, and polyester blends.  They range from huge to tiny but exhibit Molly's mastery of design.  Molly passed away at the very early age of 23, but left an amazing legacy of quilting for us to enjoy.

Love doing the Molly Upton designs. I'm very much a person to color inside the lines and Molly stretches me into new areas. Wonder what she could have taught us had she lived longer.

Can't wait each week until I get my quilt puzzle. I almost always do the 300 piece puzzle. What I'm finding is that I 'see' the quilt
much more completely as a composition when I do small pieces. I can analyze where the focal points are, almost count the percentage of each color used, get a real feel for how it was all put together. THANK YOU! It's making me a much more observant viewer at quilt shows!!

Love doing the puzzles. I challenge myself to complete each one of them under five minutes. Of course, I only do the ones that are 35 pieces! Those are about the only 'stress' I allow in my life.
