It would be really great if the tutorial talked about creating an appealing corner. I think the most critical element is missing. We all know how to fold/press to get a nice edge. Corners? Not so much.

Aren't Fat Quarters 18" X 22"? The instructions say to cut the FQ into 18-1/2" squares. How so, if it begins at only 18" on one side.?I'm just sayin'.... :-*

Look for a pattern that does a mitered corner. Much prettier

Do you miter the corners or what?

look at the Bernina Compensation Tool video-it is great for bulky spots. As I approach the corner, I slow than stop where I want to turn the corner. I slide the wedge a little under the foot parallel to my fabric edge. I reverse to lock the corner and keep the wedge engaged until I sew off the hump. I think you could make the tool yourself with cardboard, etc. I'm making plain muslin napkins for my Granddaughter to decorate on Thanksgiving.

A tip on how to manage the bulk at the corners would help a lot.

Veronica I think the ruler is correct. I agree using two pieces is much better.
